WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMS
Alpha Academy
Alpha Academy's Work Experience Programs give secondary and pre-university students supervised, hands-on exposure to professional practice inside an established Hong Kong audit firm with legal exposure, drawn from a panel of reputable professional firms.
Teaching and supervision are delivered by audit personnel and the in-house legal department of the host firm. Groups are capped at 10 students to allow active discussion and one-to-one supervision of the work produced.
ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
Students step inside a working audit practice and learn how audit, accounting and legal due-diligence work is carried out in Hong Kong, from fundamental accounting and auditing concepts and anti-money laundering procedures to the search and verification skills used in legal due diligence.
Activities include using the Companies Registry, the Land Registry and legal-case databases (with an instructor-led visit to these government offices), supervised audit work on SMEs covering fixed assets, share capital, bank balances and trade receivables, assessing legal cases relating to contingent liabilities, and preparing a legal due-diligence report.
The programs are designed for students aged 15 to 18 who are considering accounting, business, finance or law at university. Every participant receives a Certificate of Completion issued by Alpha Academy, together with a referral letter from the audit firm where the supervised work is performed.
